AGV Sr. Controls Manager - Charlotte, NC 

Join the leader in Specialty AGV manufacturing! We are looking for the best and brightest to drive sales growth while providing the highest level of customer service.

We are looking for leaders in the Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering fields that possess a good balance of practical knowledge, basic programming skills, and above all proven organizational and leadership skills. You will be involved in the installation, commissioning, and aftermarket support of complex AGV (automatic guided vehicle) systems that are used in factories and warehouses to provide un-manned material movement.

You should be highly organized and customer driven. You must have a strong technical competence as well as above-average communication skills (verbal and written). You should be a self-starter – looking for ways to add value and satisfy customers. Scott is a highly dynamic company that works on big-ticket projects. These projects have risk that must be managed – you will also help identify those risks.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee a team or group of engineers responsible for the installation of automatic guided vehicles and their systems at customer sites.

• Coordinate with sales, project, and engineering teams to install and integrate AGV systems manufactured by us.

• Hands-on installation, modifying and repair of AGVs, their supporting equipment and systems controls to meet required customer specifications.

• Troubleshooting, defining the issue, and aligning resources to resolve electrical, mechanical and/or software improvement opportunities with system components.

• Provide AGV and system programming assistance both in-house and in the field.

• Active participation in R&D and product improvement activities

Qualifications

• BS or BSET in Engineering - disciplines of engineering includes Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechatronic, or similar.

• Prior experience in a lead role required or direct supervision of technical personnel preferred.

• Minimum 8 years’ experience within industrial automation.

• Minimum (4) years’ advanced experience with PLC’s, C, C++, C#, or Structured Text programing.

• The ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 50% of the time.

• CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.); the ability to proficiently create and revise schematics or drawings

• Ability to effectively communicate in all forms of communications (verbal, written).

• Self-motivated, confident, and professional in dealing with customers, both internal and external.

• Able to effectively interface with customers in both individual and in group settings in order to conduct training, resolve system issues, or to promote solutions.
